Note: I’m still writing periodically for all 5 of you who care and I’ve added a new Boston section, and many pictures to the website (www.thecooperchronicles.com). Don’t forget to check back now and then as I’ll be updating it often.

Hello everyone-

It’s been a little while since I’ve written...but don’t worry, I’ll be brief. Just an update on the state of affairs here in the USA...I’m not speaking of the debacle of the presidential election, but rather, I’ll try to stick with subject matters that remain under my control.

Today marks 3 months for me here in the USA...things have been going better than I expected. There have been a few ups and downs, but overall it’s been enjoyable.

After about 3 weeks of winding my way around the US, I finally made it to our nation’s east coast. Settling in was easy thanks to the help of my friends David and Carla, both of whom I’m forever indebted to. I spent a few weeks searching for a job and back in October, I began working at a pharmaceutical company here in Boston (yep, I sold out to the man). It is a GREAT job and I’m lucky to have found something in my field so quickly and that I enjoy. It’s a long way from the South American road less traveled, but it does feel good to be back in a lab again and actually getting challenged daily. Don’t get me wrong, I miss Argentina and Brazil dearly, but for now, I’m fine with being here and the position I’m in. Plans for the coming months have changed (seems to be common in my life, eh?) and I’ve decided to stick around in the USA for awhile. I won’t elaborate beyond that for now...but I promise...I’m not done just yet.

Anyway, last week, I moved into an AWESOME apartment in the North End in Boston. Anyone from here or who knows the city will tell you that it could not be more in the middle of the action!! Just my style!! I can’t even begin to express how happy I am with living here and I can already feel the pace of my life quickening...which is great. The winter months are just starting though so we’ll see how I handle my first real winter in 6 years...most of you know my feelings on cold weather!

So that’s basically it...I guess I haven’t done too bad for being here for only three months...an awesome job and a great place to live, in arguably the liveliest area of the city (check my website if you want more details). I’m basically just starting to get on my feet, and it feels pretty good...although there are fears of tumbling endlessly into the void... I guess I’m just a little afraid and once again I feel like my life is sort of turning another corner and I don’t know what’s in store. I can definitely say, I’m excited to see what lies ahead and to see how I’ll like living here. Stay tuned...

One last note...If anybody is coming to the east coast, my door is ALWAYS open and you know I love visitors. I wish all of you a happy holiday season and to my American friends, a Happy Thanksgiving.
